This is the time to get to know each other and discuss the scope of the project. We'll go over the nitty-gritty timeline and budget, but we'll have so much fun deciding what could exist within your parameters.
Some things we'll talk about:
Your lifestyle and the way you want your space to function
Your personal style(s) or what you’ve always been drawn to
What you love and can't stand about the existing space
We’ll dip a little into your history (as deep as you want to go) so your space has a firm foundation.
This can happen via email and phonecall or FaceTime, in person, or a combination that works best for your schedule. I prefer meeting in person but will help you and your schedule right where you are!
If you haven't already, you'll want to begin collecting images of spaces, items, and/or places that you love, the ones that you connect with and inspire you most. Pinterest works great for this!
After this complimentary service, and if we decide to proceed, we'll set up a time for me to visit the space (again, if needed).

When the plans start coming to life! After our consultation and my visiting the space, I'll create what's called a mood board to be sure we're on the same track. A mood board coveys what it implies: the overall mood of the space. The colors, textures, lighting, the vibe. You get the picture.
Then you’ll let me know if I’ve nailed it or not. We’ll make sure you love what you’re seeing, and after you approve the mood board, I’ll proceed to create:
a financial plan for us
a detailed scope of work for the project
a floorplan—2-D or 3-D, as needed—and/or elevations
digital sample boards of the actual furnishings to be used
tangible material boards
I’m always happy to make changes along the way. I want the space to feel like yours and certainly will not install anything that you don’t love. It would be the worst to have to stare at something every day that makes you cringe!

Here’s where you have the most options, financially and managerially.
Our time together can be finished after you receive my design(s), then you can hire the carpenter, the painter, the electrician, etc. who you love and have them execute the work in your own time. Or some prefer to do the work themselves! You can purchase the furnishings on your own and complete the total look as your finances and time allow. And I can provide excellent tradesmen recommendations.
I can also be hands-on throughout the installation process. I’d love to work with a contractor, if you have one; or for smaller projects, I can manage the trades myself. Then I can acquire the furnishings, ensure delivery, and stay with you all the way through to styling.
It’s your call! Whatever you choose, whatever you need, we’ll come up with a plan that works for you.
